Dr. Buffaloe
Leon Buffaloe, Jr. MD
Board Certified Internist
Dr. Leon Buffaloe, Jr. was born in Washington, DC and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. At 18, he left home to serve his country as an Army Combat Medic. During 12 years of active duty, Dr. Buffaloe served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope, as well as during the Iraq War. After his tour to Somalia, he was accepted into the Army’s Licensed Practical Nurse Program and continued working across various areas of Nursing.
Dr. Buffaloe obtained a degree with Cum Laude honors in Biological Studies from the University of South Carolina in 2004 and went on to graduate from the University’s School of Medicine in 2008.
After graduating and completing his residency at Palmetto Health Richland—now PRISMA Health Richland—he went to work as a physician with SELF Regional in Laurens, SC and eventually moved to Simpsonville to help open a clinic for PRISMA Health Upstate. Dr. Buffaloe felt led to take his 30+ years of healthcare experience to build Grace Internal Medicine, an independent practice with an affiliate partner in MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina).
With a comfortable and approachable environment, Grace Internal Medicine welcomes community members from all over the Upstate, all of whom can be expect to be treated with the utmost respect. Whether you are a longtime patient, employee, or new to Grace Internal Medicine, Dr. Buffaloe and his team are committed to making a difference in your healthcare journey.
Meeting his wife while on tour in Honduras in 1999, Army Surgical technologist, Asante, now Family Medicine Physician, have four kids Dominique, Nicholas, Leon III, and Naomi - along with a beagle named CJ! In his downtime, Dr. Buffaloe enjoys time with his family, and working in his church.

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Lakeisha S. Henderson is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at University of South Carolina Upstate and her Master of Science in Nursing degree at South University.
Lakeisha began her nursing career 17 years ago, with most of the time spent caring for patients on a Medical-Surgical unit. She has worked as a nurse practitioner for the past 5 years, specializing in adult primary care. She believes building a trustworthy relationship with her patients is a critical component for shared decision making for best possible patient outcomes. She values patient-centered care and supports each patient in their needs.
Lakeisha is married to Antwan and they have two children, A’Myah and Christian, along with their fur-baby, Brody.

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Allison Leach was born and raised in Greenville, SC. She is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and a Masters Degree in Nursing from Clemson University.
Prior to coming to work at Grace, Allison worked in the Emergency Department for over six years. She comes from a large family (which includes two cats). In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading, hiking with her husband, and spending time with her church community.
Allison believes in caring for the patient as a whole person—body, mind, and spirit. She values the patient’s input as part of establishing a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan and desires to help improve their health and wellness.
